About this Role
We're looking for an Accountant to help build and maintain a strong financial foundation as Valerie continues to grow globally. You'll work across multiple entities, currencies, and international payment platforms, ensuring our financial records are accurate, compliant, and up to date. Beyond day-to-day accounting, you'll help improve processes, support financial planning, and contribute to building a scalable finance function.
You could be a great fit if...
-
You enjoy bringing structure and accuracy to complex financial operations.
-
You're comfortable managing accounting across multiple entities, currencies, and international markets.
-
You have strong hands-on experience with Xero and enjoy improving financial processes, not just maintaining them.
-
You're confident handling reconciliations across bank accounts and payment platforms like Wise and Airwallex.
-
You have a solid understanding of accrual accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
-
You enjoy investigating discrepancies, solving problems, and ensuring the numbers always tell the right story.
-
You're highly organised and can manage multiple priorities without compromising accuracy.
-
You communicate clearly and enjoy working with colleagues, external accountants, and stakeholders across different countries and time zones.
Requirements
-
3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or international business.
-
Strong working knowledge of Xero.
-
Experience managing multi-currency accounting, including foreign exchange gains and losses.
-
Hands-on experience with payment platforms such as Wise and Airwallex.
-
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles (GAAP and/or IFRS).
-
Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
-
Experience supporting month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Bonus Points
-
ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA, or another recognised accounting qualification (completed or in progress).
-
Experience working with multi-entity group structures and intercompany accounting.
-
Experience with VAT, GST, or international tax compliance.
-
Familiarity with Xero integrations and finance automation tools.
-
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
You probably shouldn't apply if...
-
You prefer repetitive bookkeeping over solving operational finance challenges.
-
You're uncomfortable working across multiple entities, currencies, and evolving processes.
-
You rely on highly structured environments and don't enjoy improving the way things work.
-
You struggle to manage competing priorities or work independently.
-
You're looking for a role focused solely on data entry rather than contributing to a growing finance function.
