WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Catalog management

• Own the full Amazon catalog across all marketplaces — new item setup, listing creation, variation families, parent/child relationships and retirement of discontinued items, in partnership with our Agency partners.

• Maintain listing quality and accuracy: titles, bullets, A+ content, images, backend keywords, category and browse node placement, and attribute completeness, in partnership with our Agency partners.

• Monitor for and resolve listing issues — suppressed or stranded inventory, buy box loss, content overwrites, duplicate ASINs, unauthorized sellers and mapping errors.

• Open, track and escalate Amazon support cases through to resolution, in partnership with our Agency partners.

• Adapt and localize listing content for each marketplace, including UK/European requirements and, in the future, additional languages. Inventory management and forecasting

Inventory management and forecasting

• Build and maintain a rolling SKU-level demand forecast by marketplace, accounting for seasonality, promotions, new launches and prior-year performance.

• Manage inventory health — weeks of cover, replenishment timing, restock limits, IPI score, aged and excess inventory, and removal or liquidation decisions.

• Partner with production and planning to make sure inbound supply is timed and sized to meet Amazon demand, and flag risks early enough to act on them.

• Work with operations and logistics to ship inventory in the most cost-efficient way possible — shipment planning and consolidation, case-pack and carton optimization, placement and inbound fee decisions, partnered carrier vs. alternatives, and prep/labeling compliance.

• Monitor and challenge FBA fees: dimensional classification, storage and long-term storage fees, returns processing and low-inventory-level fees.

Advertising and agency management

• Manage our external advertising agency as our day-to-day owner of the relationship — set priorities, review performance, hold them accountable to targets and challenge their recommendations.

• Own advertising efficiency. Track ACoS, TACoS, ROAS and spend pacing at the campaign, ASIN and marketplace level, and make sure we are not overspending to buy sales we would have gotten anyway.

• Review and approve budgets and bid strategy changes; identify wasted spend, low-return campaigns and incremental opportunities.

• Connect ad spend decisions back to inventory position — no spending behind items we cannot supply.

Reporting and Analysis

• Produce reliable weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on sales, units, margin, ad spend and efficiency, inventory position and forecast accuracy, by marketplace and by category.

• Deliver analysis, not just numbers — explain what moved, why it moved and what we should do about it.

• Track profitability at the SKU level, including all Amazon fees, and surface items where we are losing money.

• Maintain clean, documented reporting that other people can pick up and trust.

Marketplace expansion

• Run US, Canada and UK as three distinct businesses with their own assortment, pricing, forecast and ad strategy — not as copies of one another.

• Support the launch of new European and Asian marketplaces, including catalog build, compliance and documentation requirements, and go-to-market planning.

Cross-functional partnership

• Work closely with production, operations, sales and finance in the US, and communicate clearly and proactively across time zones.

• Be the person internally who knows the answer to “what is happening on Amazon and why.”

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience managing an Amazon Seller Central and/or Vendor Central account — ideally for a US-based brand or its agency.

• Direct experience with FBA inventory planning, replenishment and shipment creation.

• Demonstrated experience managing or closely overseeing Amazon Advertising, whether in-house or through an agency.

• Experience with more than one Amazon marketplace is strongly preferred.

• Exceptionally detail-oriented. This role involves large catalogs, thousands of data points and small errors that become expensive; we need someone who catches them.

• Genuinely data-driven. Comfortable building and maintaining models in Excel or Google Sheets — pivot tables, lookups, forecast logic — and forming a point of view from the numbers.

• Strong written and spoken English, and the confidence to push back on an agency or an internal stakeholder when the data says they're wrong.

• Self-directed and organized. This person will operate largely independently, several time zones away from the rest of the team.

Nice to have

• Experience with a seasonal, high-SKU-count consumer products business (gift, stationery, home, publishing or similar).

• Experience launching a new Amazon marketplace from scratch.

• Familiarity with an ERP system and with Amazon settlement / reconciliation data.

• Working knowledge of EU/UK marketplace compliance (VAT, EPR, GPSR, responsible person requirements).
