Position Summary
Generation Clinical Partners (GCP), based in St. Louis, is a physician-led medical practice exclusively dedicated to caring for frail elderly residents in senior living communities, including skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living settings. We are seeking a remote, offshore athenaHealth specialist with 3–5 years of experience to serve as our resource and support on athena, maximizing efficiency, maintaining compliance and supporting clinical and administrative staff. This is a dedicated remote role requiring full availability during core U.S. business hours (CST) to support providers and staff in real time.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of support and resource for clinicians and staff with questions and issues related to athena primarily but also PCC and MatrixCare.
- Train new clinicians in athena workflows and our practice processes like incorporating digital on-calls, voice to text, census management, etc
- Set up new practices, location and departments in athena as we expand to different states
- Structure and manage targeted training, new releases/deployments by athena, compliance, quality metrics
- Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance gaps in athena to identify additional training opportunities
- Be available and responsive via Google Meet and athenaText throughout the workday for real-time support
- Assist with Promoting Interoperability and other ACO initiatives
Athena Platform Knowledge Required
Core Clinical Workflow
- Clinical charting, compliance tracking, and e-prescribing within athenaClinicals
- Evaluation and Management (E&M) coding and compliance documentation
- Prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) integration and real-time medication history review
Clinical Documentation Tools
- Patient/resident chart setup and maintenance (medications, allergies, lab results) within athenaClinicals
- Secure clinical messaging and care coordination workflows
- Support specialty documentation needs where applicable
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with athenahealth products, with strong depth in athenaClinicals
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering in-depth clinical training programs
- Working knowledge of clinical documentation and compliance workflows
- Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional home office setup suitable for video calls
- Ability to work from 7:00 AM–4:00 PM CST, Monday through Friday
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Comfortable delivering training via video conferencing tools
- Self-directed and able to manage tasks with minimal on-site supervision
Preferred Qualifications
• Completion of a 4-year College degree
- 3-5 years prior experience working with athenahealth on a clinical training role
