WeSoftYou · 27 days ago
About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. This is a part-time, hourly-based engagement (~60 hours per month), fully remote.
You'll take ownership of cloud infrastructure on Azure, working closely with software engineers and architects to design reliable, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions. The role requires someone who can operate independently, prioritize effectively within a limited time budget, and deliver high-impact infrastructure improvements without hand-holding.
What You'll Do:
-
Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on Azure
-
Develop Python scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure management, deployments, and operational workflows
-
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to support fast and reliable software delivery
-
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent)
-
Monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure system reliability and uptime
-
Optimize cloud environments for scalability, cost efficiency, and security
-
Implement and enforce cloud security best practices across all environments
-
Collaborate closely with software engineers and architects on cloud-native architecture decisions
What We're Looking For:
-
5+ years of commercial experience as a DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
-
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
-
Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar)
-
Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent)
-
Strong Linux administration skills — comfortable in the terminal and confident in production systems
-
Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Datadog, Grafana, ELK stack, CloudWatch, or similar)
-
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals — VPC, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and security groups
-
Experience implementing cloud security best practices — IAM, secrets management, network segmentation
-
Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively within a part-time engagement
-
Upper-Intermediate or Advanced English — clear written and spoken communication
Nice to Have:
-
Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration in production
-
Familiarity with Python scripting for infrastructure automation
-
Background in HR Tech, SaaS, or product company environments
-
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud setups
-
Knowledge of cloud cost optimization strategies
