About the Role

We're looking for a senior content leader to be the voice and face of two brands on video: Darkroom, our growth marketing agency, and Shadow, our AI commerce platform. Ad Age recently described us as "if Omnicom was rebuilt on AI." Your job is to turn a line like that into a show the market watches and repeats back to us. The split is roughly 80% Darkroom, 20% Shadow.

We are making a category bet on the forward-deployed marketer, the operator who sits inside a business and builds with AI rather than briefing the work out. Video is where we make that case: a weekly long-form show and podcast, and the short-form cut from it. You own that show end to end, from the idea to the conversation on camera.

You'll report to our VP of Marketing, who sets direction and makes the calls. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management one. You decide what the show is about, who we talk to, and what angle we take, then you sit in the host's chair.

You are the on-camera face of our content, in the studio and at events. You don't record, shoot or edit; our video team does.

This is a New York-based role operating in the EST Time Zone, on-site at our NYC office, and all business is conducted 100% in English.

Compensation: The salary for this role is $110,000 per year. It applies to candidates based in New York, including New York City, in compliance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law and the New York City Salary Transparency Law.

What you'll do

  • The Weekly Show: Our long-form video show and podcast, every week. The concept, the formats and the editorial line that makes each episode worth an operator's hour.

  • Guests & Angles: Decide who we talk to and why. Find the angle only they can give us and turn it into a sharp outline or script.

  • Hosting & Interviewing: Host and interview founders, clients and operators in our NYC studio. You lead the conversation and get the moments nobody else gets.

  • On Stage at Events: Represent Darkroom and Shadow at events: host panels, interview guests on stage and on camera.

  • Short-Form Ideas: Pick the moments that become clips. Write the hooks, titles and cutdown ideas so one episode becomes a week of short-form across our channels.

  • Brand Narrative: Define and defend what Darkroom and Shadow say: the positioning, the category bet, and the point of view that runs through every episode and everything cut from it.

  • Written Thought Leadership: Turn the best ideas from each episode into LinkedIn posts and short articles.

  • Supporting the Wider Team: Help shape newsletter, paid and campaign messaging with the team.

You should apply if this sounds like you

  • 5+ years in content, brand or media, mostly in-house at a software, B2B or tech company, with B2B or pipeline accountability. An agency-only background is not the fit.

  • You have hosted a show. A recurring video series, podcast or interview format, built and run by you. You are at your best on camera and on stage, and you get guests to say something new. Send the links.

  • You think in episodes and formats. You know how to structure an hour-long conversation, and you know which 40 seconds of it will travel.

  • You can write: outlines, scripts, hooks, and the post that sells the episode.

  • You have owned content that was accountable to a business number. You can explain how an episode becomes views, traffic, and leads.

  • You know this world. DTC, e-commerce, performance marketing, social commerce, AI tooling. You can interview an operator about TikTok Shop, retention, or attribution without a briefing and without getting it wrong.

  • You give a video team direction and feedback that makes the next cut better.

  • You arrive with a list. In the first interview, we will ask what you would change about our show, our clips, and our LinkedIn. We expect specifics.

  • You already work with Claude, ChatGPT, or similar daily and have shipped real work with them. We are a Claude-first company.

Hard disqualifiers

  • No hosted video or podcast work you can link to.

  • No published writing or no portfolio link.

  • Content experience with no accountability for pipeline.
