Job Details: Job Location: Piedmont Triad Metropolitan Area - Piedmont Triad, NC, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Director of Multifamily Real Estate  Location: Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, or Virginia (Remote with Regional Travel)  Position Overview  Friedman Real Estate is seeking an experienced Director of Multifamily Real Estate to oversee a regional portfolio of multifamily communities throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia. This senior leadership role provides strategic direction, operational oversight, financial management, and leadership to Regional and Community Manager to ensure client objectives, ownership goals, and company standards are consistently achieved.  The ideal candidate will bring strong multi-site property management experience, financial acumen, and the ability to lead high-performing teams across multiple markets while driving portfolio performance and operational excellence.  Essential Responsibilities  Leadership & Team Development  Lead, coach, and develop Regional Managers and Community Manager, setting clear expectations and accountability standards.  Support recruiting, onboarding, retention, succession planning, and team development across the region.  Promote a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.  Portfolio Operations  Oversee operational performance for a multi-state multifamily portfolio, ensuring communities meet ownership objectives, occupancy goals, resident satisfaction standards, and company policies.  Monitor property performance, identify improvement opportunities, and conduct regular inspections with Regional Managers to assess curb appeal, maintenance standards, resident experience, and compliance.  Ensure adherence to fair housing requirements and applicable federal, state, and local laws.  Financial Management  Provide strategic oversight of property budgets, financial performance, monthly reporting, forecasts, and operating metrics.  Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue, control expenses, and improve NOI.  Partner with Regional Managers on annual budgets, capital plans, and timely owner reporting.  Client & Stakeholder Relations  Serve as a key contact for ownership groups, investment partners, and senior leadership.  Prepare and present portfolio updates, performance results, and strategic recommendations.  Build strong relationships with owners, vendors, lenders, and internal departments including HR, Accounting, Marketing, Asset Management, Construction, Compliance, and Maintenance Operations.  Strategic Initiatives  Identify portfolio trends and lead initiatives that improve operational, financial, and resident experience outcomes.  Support acquisitions, dispositions, transitions, new management assignments, special projects, and long-term portfolio growth strategies.  Qualifications  Required Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, Property Management, Finance, or related field required.  Minimum of five years of multi-site residential property management experience, including leadership of Regional Managers, Community Manager, or similar teams.  Strong financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and operational performance management skills.  Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.  Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.  Proficiency with property management software, Microsoft Office, and remote communication tools.  Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the assigned region.  Preferred Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in business, Real Estate, Finance, or related field.  CPM, CPM Candidate, CAPS, or other industry-recognized designation.  Experience overseeing large, geographically dispersed portfolios, third-party management relationships, and institutional ownership groups.  Qualifications:
