Senior GitHub Platform Engineer

Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional with 8 to 13 years of expertise to lead the support, security, compliance, and operational resilience of our GitHub enterprise environment. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring the platform's stability, optimizing user enablement, and driving continuous improvement through data-driven reporting. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic partner in maintaining a secure, efficient, and high-performing development ecosystem across all locations in India, balancing technical depth with operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Strengthen repository security posture by implementing GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS) features and enhancing overall code protection mechanisms.

• Refine governance protocols regarding token management and repository attestation to ensure strict adherence to security standards.

• Conduct thorough assessments of backup strategies and lead disaster recovery planning to guarantee business continuity and system resiliency.

• Provide comprehensive operational support, including the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues.

• Maintain and update technical documentation while serving as the primary point of contact for user support and stakeholder communications.

• Drive operational maturity through ongoing maintenance activities and the implementation of process improvements.

• Develop and manage governance dashboards to deliver actionable insights on platform usage, adoption trends, and consumption metrics.

• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and workflow automation to enhance overall platform efficiency.

• Formulate and recommend strategic enhancements to the GitHub infrastructure based on usage analysis and industry best practices.

Requirements

• 8 to 13 years of professional experience in software development, platform engineering, or DevOps operations.

• Proven expertise in managing GitHub Enterprise environments with a strong focus on security, compliance, and resilience.

• Deep knowledge of GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), token governance, and repository attestation processes.

• Demonstrated ability to design and execute disaster recovery and backup strategies.

• Strong analytical skills with experience in creating reports, dashboards, and monitoring consumption costs.

• Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder management and user enablement.

• Ability to work effectively across PAN-INDIA locations.
