POSITION OVERVIEW
The Process Engineer plays a dual role, working on both quotation and project teams. In the quotation phase, the Process Engineer collaborates with sales, estimating, and customers to design systems and specify components that meet customer needs. On project teams, the Process Engineer provides technical leadership to ensure overall process design and function are achieved, while supporting project execution, commissioning, and customer training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Quotation Support
- Collaborate with sales and estimating staff to design potential systems.
- Prepare or approve preliminary design documents including mass flow diagrams, P&IDs with equipment lists, general arrangement drawings, and control schematics.
- Perform and document engineering calculations for proposed systems.
- Review and approve quotations/contracts as they pertain to process operation and scope.
Process Design & Engineering
- Design safe and effective systems and componentstocustomer and contractual specifications.
- Develop functional descriptions for use by automation/controls in programming.
- Provide critical design reviews and approvals at project milestones.
- Approve process drawings, general arrangements, and operator interface screens.
Project Execution
- Guide and support project engineers on process design matters.
- Direct commissioning activities for assigned projects.
- Provide on-site technical support and train operators on control and service of production equipment/lines.
- Ensure necessary project information (drawings, updates, documentation) is completed and provided to the appropriate internal departments.
Customer Relationship & Communication
- Serve as a technical resource for customers, building cooperative and professional relationships.
- Communicate process specifications and design details clearly to internal staff and customers.
- Provide timely technological support and advice as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Dairy Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in the food, beverage, or dairy process industry.
Technical Knowledge: Strong background in process design, mass balances, P&IDs, and system commissioning.

TRAVEL:
- Must be willing to travel 25-40% of the time.
