The Role: Legal Project Manager

Eudia Counsel is seeking an experienced Legal Project Manager to join a customer's global in-house legal operations team on a 12-month secondment, with the possibility of extension or conversion. This is a full-time, remote role open to candidates based anywhere in the US.

Reporting to the Legal Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the team's spend management and outside counsel strategy, leading RFPs, negotiating alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) and law firm pricing, and building the processes, templates and playbooks that help the legal function operate more efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Support the global legal team on spend management initiatives
• Negotiate AFAs on high-spend legal matters and proactively identify new opportunities to put AFAs in place
• Assist with the design and delivery of training on AFAs
• Run RFPs end to end, including attending follow-up interviews with vendors and the legal team
• Collaborate with the legal team to create RFP templates for both small and large RFPs, and work with the RFP team to build those templates in the RFP tool
• Negotiate pricing with law firms, including benchmarking hourly rates
• Roll out the MRA program to new firms and complete all outstanding MRAs
• Draft process documents and playbooks

Key Requirements

• Prior experience in both an in-house legal department and a law firm
• Project or program management experience
• Strong contract negotiation skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Outside counsel management experience, specifically benchmarking hourly rates
• Legal pricing experience, including knowledge of and experience negotiating AFAs
• Experience developing and implementing solutions or operational improvements
• Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, stay organized and manage your own time effectively
• Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
• Technologically savvy, with experience using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• 6+ years of overall experience

Nice to have:

• PMP or similar project management certification
• Prior experience at a technology company
• Familiarity with eBilling software and online RFP software
• Familiarity with Tableau or other dashboarding tools
