We are looking for a tech-savvy live event professional to join our growing Event Operations department as our primary field IT and event technology specialist. The Onsite Event Technology Manager serves as the "master of all things tech" in the field, bridging the gap between onsite operations, product and engineering, and corporate IT management. Responsibilities
Epic Onsite Technology
- Equipment Preparation & Setup: Configure, test, and deploy event technology hardware onsite in coordination with project managers, logistics, and clients.
- Field & Client Support: Deliver technical troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and operational support to clients, staff, and end-users during live events.
- Fulfillment & Staff Training: Oversee onsite fulfillment operations, quality assurance, and train local staff on event software and product usage.
Epic Operational Improvements
- Hardware Lifecycle: Assess existing Epic hardware, identify necessary upgrades, and develop a prioritized rollout plan
- Onsite Feedback: Represent onsite operational needs in internal meetings.
- Documentation & Playbooks: Maintain documentation for onsite operations, including network specs, equipment playbooks, and key processes.
- Training & Certification: Partner with the Learning & Development team to build and maintain training and certification programs for onsite contractors and staff.
Epic Support Requests
- Operational & Server Tasks: Assist with non-engineering Epic support, such as reporting requests and Epic server maintenance.
- Troubleshooting & Q&A: Deliver remote technical troubleshooting and support for Epic hardware and software systems, and collaborate with Epic QA team to support testing and validation.
- Implementation Support: Assist the Epic Implementation team with implementation tasks such as configuring products, building schedules, and coordinating onsales.
Enterprise Onsite Technology
- Ticketing & Activation Support: Build proficiency in onsite hardware and software that supports Enterprise technology.
- System Diagnostics & Testing: Perform routine system testing, diagnostics, remote maintenance, and technical fault resolution.
- System Documentation: Write, update, and publish documentation and instructional manuals to support effective deployment of technology onsite.
General IT & Vendor Management
- IT Infrastructure & Strategy: Provide strategic guidance and recommendations for internal IT systems and needs, software tooling, and corporate technology infrastructure.
- Vendor & Support Operations: Manage IT vendor relationships and assist with internal IT tasks, including employee onboarding and general helpdesk support.
Qualifications
- Experience in live event production, event technology, or field IT support.
- Strong technical, hardware, and IT troubleshooting skills:
- Experience with onsite or remote client technical support.
- Familiarity with IP networking, hardware deployment, and system diagnostics.
- Proficient with mobile operating systems (Android and iOS) and office software (Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel).
- Experience creating technical documentation, training playbooks, or user guides.
- Highly organized with strong project and vendor management capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Self-starter capable of driving projects independently in fast-paced field environments.
- Passport required; ability to travel internationally (including Canada and the UK).
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Role Type: Remote
- Travel: 25%–75% travel requirement. Must be available and willing to travel on weekends and select holidays.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and work long hours during live event setups and execution.
