About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Oracle Retail RMS & Allocation to lead the architecture, technical delivery and governance of enterprise Oracle Retail solutions.
The role will have primary ownership of Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and Allocation, while providing technical leadership across the broader Oracle Retail v11 landscape and its integrations.
The successful candidate will combine deep Oracle Retail technical expertise with strong retail process knowledge, particularly across pack management, purchase orders, allocations and inventory management. This is a hands-on technical leadership position requiring the ability to guide development teams, influence solution architecture, resolve complex production issues and work effectively with business, functional and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design

Own technical architecture and solution design for Oracle RMS, Allocation and associated integrations.

Provide technical direction across the broader Oracle Retail v11 suite.

Translate functional and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Lead the development of High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation.

Conduct technical feasibility assessments, impact analysis and effort estimation for projects, enhancements and change requests.
Technical Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor a team of Oracle Retail developers and technical specialists.
-
Allocate development activities and monitor delivery against agreed timelines.
-
Review code, technical designs and deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with development standards.

Mentor both junior and senior team members and support ongoing technical capability development.
-
Establish and enforce coding, design, integration and documentation standards.
Oracle Retail & Integration
-
Provide deep technical leadership across RMS and Allocation.
-
Oversee integration between RMS, Allocation and other Oracle Retail modules.
-
Design and govern integrations using Oracle Retail Integration Bus (RIB).
-
Establish best practices for integration architecture, data governance, reliability and maintainability.
-
Assess downstream and upstream impacts of changes across the Oracle Retail ecosystem.
Performance & Production Support
-
Act as the primary technical escalation point for critical production issues involving RMS, Allocation and integrated Oracle Retail modules.

Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of complex application, integration and batch-processing issues.

Define and drive performance optimisation across:

RIB messaging

Unix processes

Identify recurring technical issues and implement sustainable corrective and preventative solutions.
Release, Environment & Upgrade Management

Oversee patch management and technical upgrade planning.

Define environment and release strategies across Development, Test, UAT and Production.

Assess technical risks associated with releases and deployments.
-
Coordinate technical activities supporting cutover and production implementation.
-
Support batch scheduling and operational processes using Autosys and/or Control-M.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Work closely with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers and other technical teams.

Coordinate with Oracle Support on complex product issues, patches and strategic technical matters.
-
Provide technical advice to project and program leadership regarding solution options, risks, dependencies and effort.
-
Contribute to technology roadmap discussions and future-state Oracle Retail planning.

Support pre-sales and solutioning activities where required, including technical solution development and effort estimation.

Experience Required

9–12 years of relevant technology experience, with substantial experience in Oracle Retail.

Strong hands-on experience with RMS and Allocation.
-
Demonstrated experience working with Oracle Retail v11 environments.
-
Proven experience leading Oracle Retail development or technical teams.

Experience delivering complex enhancements, integrations and production support within large retail environments.

Experience with technical estimation, impact assessment and solution design.
