Role Summary:
The Senior Communications Manager will have primary responsibility for the development and execution of strategic communications plans to support employee engagement and advance Datavant’s reputation as an employer of choice across audiences. In this role, the Communications Manager will be a strategic advisor and collaboration partner to functional and business leaders on communications to promote knowledge sharing, community-building and action among Datavant colleagues. The successful candidate will partner closely with the Communications Specialist to drive the development and delivery of content to promote the Company’s employer value proposition across channels (website, social media and third party platforms such as Glassdoor). In addition to their primary role as internal communications lead, the Sr. Communications Manager will support the Head of Communications on the execution of external communications strategies that support corporate reputation and product promotion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as strategic communications advisor to leaders on enterprise/departmental communications
- Lead strategy and manage execution of communications to advance Datavant’s employer brand across internal and external channels
- Lead strategy and execution of integration related communications to employees of acquired companies
- Intranet publishing governance and guidance for other departments
- Own editorial strategy and execution of monthly company newsletter
- Support internal and executive communications in close partnership with the Office of the CEO and Chief People Officer
- Company Town Hall content development, speaker management and event production
- Comms strategy development/execution for People/HR campaigns (e.g., Open Enrollment, Annual Performance Reviews) and internal organizational changes
- Provide guidance and support to the internal incident/crisis management team for communications to employees to alert and update on incidents that pose operational risk
- Provide guidance and support to the Communications Specialist in the development of materials to promote talent, culture and values
Core Qualifications:
- 5+ years of public relations and communications experience, including experience in an in-house role at a mid- to large-sized company
- Experience leading or supporting internal communications programs and initiatives
- Strong understanding of internal communications best practices
- Experience securing earned media coverage and working directly with journalists, either in-house or at an agency; professional journalism experience also considered
- Proven track record of developing and executing multi-stakeholder communications programs that educate, engage, and inspire target audiences
- Experience using AI for content creation, with an interest in leveraging AI to improve communications planning, processes, and workflows
- Strong business, creative, and editorial writing skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field

The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job.
The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is:
$132,000—$155,000 USD
