Experienced Field Service Technician

Remote, field-based | Reports to the main office in Cape Girardeau, MO

Summary

The Field Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of service station facilities, keeping each site running safely and efficiently. Technicians evaluate, troubleshoot, and monitor all instrumentation systems.

Remote position: This technician works from a remote location within their assigned territory and reports to the main office in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, protocols, and regulations.

• Conduct routine inspections of service station facilities to identify maintenance needs.

• Troubleshoot and repair fuel dispensers, pumps, underground storage tanks, lighting systems, POS consoles, and other equipment as needed.

• Perform preventive maintenance, including filter replacement, equipment lubrication, and system calibration.

• Perform start-ups of retail and commercial fueling stations.

• Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies, including those that occur outside normal working hours.

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and service histories.

• Attend seminars and workshops to build skills and improve performance.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask.

• Excellent time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Legible handwriting for accurate service documentation.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

• Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical systems required.

• Previous experience in the petroleum service industry required.

• 5+ years of related experience preferred.

• OSHA certification highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

• Heavy physical work, frequently performed in difficult positions.

• Continuously lift and move materials weighing more than 70 pounds.

• Climb ladders to install and retrieve equipment.

• Frequently kneel, bend, reach, stand, and handle materials.

• Lift and remove manhole covers.

Schedule

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

On call: 24/7 for your assigned territory, with support from both branches when needed.
