Software Engineer - Browser Automation

MISSION
If you ask a hospital today how much a treatment will cost, the answer is usually: “We don’t know.”
Not because providers don’t want to tell you but because patient cost is computed across insurance plans, negotiated rates, and billing rules that are fragmented, opaque, and not designed for real-time transparency.
What should be a simple question requires navigating a web of systems that don’t talk to each other.
So humans do that work instead.
They log into portals, call payers, follow decision trees, and manually stitch together answers across disconnected systems. Even when providers want to give a clear answer, the system makes it nearly impossible.
At Bravebird, we’re changing that.
We’re building agents that do the work between systems - end to end.
We believe the future of work is machines talking to machines, handling fragmented, system-to-system workflows so humans can focus on decisions, judgment, and care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're building agentic AI systems that can reason, act, and operate reliably in messy, real-world environments.
As a Software Engineer (Browser Automation), you will build the backbone that makes our agents reliable, scalable, and production-ready. You'll write the automations that log into fragmented legacy portals, keep them durable when those portals change, and build the infrastructure that runs thousands of them at once.
This is a deeply technical, high-ownership role. You'll work directly with founders, shape the technical direction, and ship systems that are used in real-world, high-stakes environments.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build Robust Automation Engines — highly reliable, code-first browser automations navigating complex, fragmented legacy portals and extracting structured data.
- Build Self-Healing Workflows — deterministic + AI-assisted self-healing that adapts to UI updates, layout shifts, and element mutations without human intervention.
- Scale Execution — concurrent, high-throughput execution of thousands of long-running workflows with strong state management, retries, low latency, high consistency.
- Architect Stealth Infrastructure — build and scale execution infrastructure using advanced stealth execution, browser fingerprinting, and residential proxy management to keep automations stable against portals that don't want to be automated.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 5+ years of software engineering experience — you ship production systems and build software.
- Web automation at scale (hard requirement) — a proven track record of building and maintaining production-grade web automation or scraping systems at scale.
- Deep browser-automation expertise — hands-on mastery of Playwright, Puppeteer, Selenium, or CDP, plus the DOM, HTTP, headers, and session management.
- Stealth and proxy mastery — direct production experience with stealth execution, residential proxy management, and browser fingerprinting.
- Architectural rigor — strong thinking around state management, distributed queues, and retries for long-running, non-deterministic workflows.
- A resilient problem-solving mindset — you enjoy reverse-engineering obscure systems, finding stable workarounds, and building durable software for restrictive environments.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Ownership and impact
- Competitive compensation with meaningful equity
- Direct access to founders and customers
- The opportunity to ship production systems in high-stakes environments
