JOB TITLE: Sounds Business Operations Manager

LOCATION: US remote

THE ROLE: Splice is looking for a Sounds Business Operations Manager to own the program management and operational work that keeps our Sounds business running smoothly. This role sits between our category teams and senior leadership, focused on workstream management, team coordination, budget tracking, operational process improvement, and cross-functional partnership with Product & Engineering.

This is not a production or creative role. It's a program management and operations role for someone who thrives on bringing structure to complexity, keeping work moving, and making sure teams are set up to do their best work.

Core Responsibilities

Program Management & Workstream Coordination

Own senior program management across Audio Dev, tracking: workstreams, milestones, and deliverables__Maintain visibility into what's on track, what's at risk, and what needs intervention__Proactively surface blockers and coordinate solutions across teams__Ensure cross-functional dependencies are identified and managed before they become problems

Cross-Functional Partnership with Product & Engineering

Represent Audio Dev's needs and priorities in product roadmap discussions and planning cycles__Coordinate between Audio Dev and Product/Engineering teams on shared workstreams and initiatives__Bring Audio Dev context into product decisions — surfacing the right data, needs, and trade-offs at the right time__Track product initiatives that affect Sounds and flag dependencies or risks proactively

Team Rhythm & Communications

Own the operational cadence of the Audio Dev team, meeting schedules, agendas, follow-ups, and action item tracking__Prepare and coordinate materials for leadership presentations and cross-functional meetings__Ensure the right information reaches the right people at the right time__Help category leads show up to key meetings prepared and aligned

Budget Tracking & Financial Coordination

_Manage and report on the audio development budget (~$120k/month)_Track spend across in-house production, third-party labels, and artist partnerships__Flag risks and variances to leadership with context and recommendations__Partner with Finance on reporting and routine financial processes

Operational Process Improvement

Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across contracting, approvals, and tracking__Partner with Content Operations to improve systems and reduce manual friction__Serve as a first-line escalation point for cross-functional issues, routing them appropriately

Portfolio Reporting & Insights

Aggregate data on catalog performance, spend, and content health for leadership__Identify trends or issues that need attention and bring them forward with context__Support category leads with operational data to inform their decisions

Ideal Background

3–6 years in program management, content operations, or business operations, ideally in a music, media, or subscription business__Strong program and project management skills, with experience managing complex, multi-team workstreams__Comfortable owning meeting cadences, executive communications, and cross-functional coordination__Experience working with budgets and financial tracking__Highly organized, proactive, and able to work through ambiguity without waiting to be told what to do

What Success Looks Like

Audio Dev workstreams are visible, on track, and unblocked__Leadership meetings are well-prepared, focused, and productive__Budget is tracked and reported accurately every month__Category leads spend less time on coordination and more time on their core work__Escalations are routed and resolved without reaching senior leadership unnecessarily

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Familiarity with Airtable, Notion, Linear, or similar workflow and productivity tools
  • Experience working in music tech or creator-focused technology
  • A track record of building automations and scalable workflows to streamline team operations
  • Experience architecting processes and systems in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments

The national pay range for this role is $120,000 - $150,000. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
