Who We Are
AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, redefining how airlines and ground service providers around the globe run day-to-day operations. We are looking for a Special Projects Manager to join AeroVect's Operations team in Atlanta.
A fast-scaling operation generates a steady stream of work that belongs to no single function: the site that needs to open, the equipment that needs to reach a hundred people's hands, the process everyone works around because nobody has fixed it, the rollout that needs a plan before it needs a champion. In this role, you will own that work.
You will take problems from Operations leadership and carry them to a finished result. Some will be physical — sites, space, equipment, infrastructure. Some will be organizational — a process to design, a rollout to sequence, a decision that needs analysis behind it. Most will arrive underspecified. You will gather the context yourself, form a recommendation, drive it, and close it out.
You will work across Operations, Engineering, Hardware, Safety, IT, Finance, and People, and with vendors, service providers, property managers, and airport and airline stakeholders.
Initiative, judgment, and follow-through are the key attributes for success in this position. You will be given problems rather than instructions, and you will be trusted to run with input instead of supervision. The right person finds that freeing rather than daunting.
You Will
Sites & Physical Infrastructure
-
Lead site work end to end — evaluating and securing space, planning build-outs, managing moves, and getting a location fully operational
-
Own the site strategy for a growing fleet: define which functions live on-airport versus off-airport, and plan the infrastructure every tractor depends on — storage, charging, data offload, calibration, and service access — ahead of new vehicle deliveries.
-
Keep facilities running: utilities, connectivity, maintenance, access and security, service contracts, and the vendor and property relationships behind them
-
Anticipate what the operation will need before it becomes urgent, and stay ahead of the obligations, renewals, and constraints that come with physical space
Equipment & Procurement
-
Get the operation what it needs to run — devices, tools, safety equipment, non-autonomous vehicles, furniture, site infrastructure — from requirement through deployment and ongoing support
-
Evaluate options on cost, reliability, and lead time, and bring a recommendation rather than a menu of choices
-
Move purchases through the right approvals with the right documentation, and keep spend organized and defensible
-
Maintain a clear picture of what the company owns, where it is, and what condition it's in
-
Run the device and account lifecycle for the field team — procurement, carrier plans, mobile device management, mounting, account provisioning, and recovery at offboarding
Projects & Rollouts
-
Take on initiatives from Operations leadership and run them to completion with minimal oversight, including the ones with no obvious owner
-
Build plans that hold up: scope, sequence, dependencies, timeline, budget, and the communications that go with them
-
Coordinate work across people who don't report to you, and keep it moving without escalating by default
Process & Tooling
-
Identify recurring friction and design the process, tool, tracker, or documentation that removes it
-
Find manual work worth automating, and build or specify the solution
-
Turn ad-hoc practice into standards that hold up after you hand them off
Communication
-
Write clearly for very different audiences — frontline operators, executives, customers, vendors — often on the same day
-
Deliver operational communications to the team on changes to process, equipment, facilities, and tooling, including operator-facing notes on software and hardware changes.
-
Support internal and external events, including planning, logistics, and follow-through
-
Give leadership short, accurate status, and escalate early when something is genuinely blocked
You Have
-
3+ years in operations, program or project management, chief of staff, facilities, procurement, or a comparable generalist role where you owned outcomes rather than tasks
-
A record of taking ambiguous problems from first mention to fully resolved without supervision, with specific examples you can walk through in depth
-
Experience managing external vendors, contractors, or service providers, including scoping work and holding them to it
-
Comfort with numbers and commercial terms — you can build a cost comparison, read a quote or a contract, and explain the trade-offs to an executive
-
Strong writing; you can produce a clear note to a frontline team and a clear recommendation to a founder
-
A reliable system for tracking commitments, so nothing has to be asked for twice
-
Willingness to work onsite in Atlanta, including regular presence at our airport facility
-
Ability to pass federal background checks and to receive and maintain an airport security badge
-
Valid U.S. driver's license
We Prefer
-
Experience opening, building out, or relocating a physical site
-
Experience supporting a frontline, hourly, or shift-based workforce
-
Familiarity with aviation, logistics, manufacturing, construction, or field operations
-
Experience at an early-stage or high-growth company where the process did not exist yet
-
Experience administering devices, carrier accounts, or SaaS tools (e.g., mobile device management, Apple Business Manager, workforce apps)
-
Comfort building lightweight tools — spreadsheets, forms, automations, documentation — to solve a problem quickly
